Dr. Nazila Alimohammadi, also known as “Dr. Naz” by her patients, grew up in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She attended Wake Forest University where she attained her B.S. Degree in Health and Exercise Science and Minor in Studio Art. She then went on to Creighton University School of Dentistry where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). She has been practicing in the Charlotte and Matthews area since 2009.

Outside of dentistry Dr. Naz enjoys spending time with her daughter, playing tennis, doing art projects and antiquing.

Prior to attending dental school Dr. Naz did research in the subjects of cervical cancer at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School and drug metabolism in dentistry at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. This research was published in the journal of Dental Materials.

Dr. Naz enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, and performs all procedures including fillings, crown and bridge, veneers, partials and dentures, extractions, root canals, and implant restoration. She is especially fond of complex cases which include full mouth restorations. She has also achieved the highest level of Invisalign training, and with her extensive experience, this is one of her favorite procedures. Outside of private practice, she has worked in emergency dental medicine, gaining more experience to help get patients out of pain.

Interesting insights about Dr. Naz: she is bilingual in Farsi and her public art piece “The Periodic Table” was published in the Journal of Chemical Engineering News and has gained worldwide acclaim.
